The is theme this week is cultivating joy and spaciousness. **bonus, double the joy and mobility and come for our Community Yoga just before at 530pm.
As a #barefootmassage therapist, i want to avoid that angry sasquatch face and be diligent about my personal self care. Regardless of your working environment, there is always going to be some sort of repetitive stress on your body. Caring for those areas to combat that stress are going to be key in keeping you safe from injury.
What can you do? *** First and best answer is...you can come in for a 90min Mobilizing-FasciAshi session here at Barefoot Space! *** If you are like me and you need daily #selfcare, then you can follow this:
1. Assess whats going on in YOUR body.
2. Palpate yourself, find those areas and understand which specific body parts that you need to work on. Befor you begin to work, identify bony landmarks & muscles. Thrn use a tool . A ball, a foam roller, your hands... but, be gentle as you explore the body one spot at a time, pausing and observing sensations.
3. You should mostly be "comfortable". Self care is not always warm and fluffy, you might feel some discomfort but dont cause yourself sasquatch levels of pain, that's just silly.
4. Focus Man.
Focus on the sensations as a result of the selfcare.
5. Don’t forceably “release” tension.
Your intention is to build a detailed sensory map of your body in your brain, by exploring and connecting to your body, resulting in a release of tension.

A FOOT massage is where YOUR feet are being massaged with hands through techniques such as Reflexology, Acupressure, Thai Foot Massage, or just a big-ol-short-couch foot rub ( like your partner gives you while binge watching netflix). BORING!!!! A BAREFOOT MASSAGE is given by a massage professional who utilizes FEET as tools to give the massage rather than hands. Deep tissue, myofascial release and trigger point focused barefoot massage sessions, address the deep fascial bands, navigate the contours of muscle and bone, and apply a great amount of pressure directly to specific tissue issues. This will result in a form of myofascial release with consistency and accuracy. The Therapist will always move slower and sometimes not at all to allow for that “deeper than deep tissue” feeling so many of you are looking for.
